Through our content marketing program we have helped many business owners grow their online presence and increase their search rankings while requiring only minimal involvement from them.  Today I just want to provide some tips we have learned over the years about what type of content you should post on your website to increase your revenues.

Content Ideas for Your Website:

  1. For restaurants and retail, the simplest forms of content are special deals or offers.
  2. Set up a box on your home page that you can update regularly with a new picture or an item such as the featured item of the day.  All you have to do is log in and select the picture when you use a wordpress plugin like we offer our clients.
  3. Do you have a business that offers something requiring directions or “How To” information?  A craft store can be writing articles about craft projects.  If you are an auto repair store, you can make articles about car repair and car maintenance.
  4. I would not recommend you post content every day unless you have a very specific market that lives and breathes your products or your service.  Transaction Expert has two different blogs.  One is for sales people who are out in the field selling every day representing transactionexpert.com. The other blog has daily publishing for small business clients and prospects who are running a small business every day.  That is why we do the podcast daily and videos daily.  A clothing store, on the other hand, doesn’t have clientele who wants to hear about clothes every day.  To post once a week would probably be sufficient.   This is easier for the blog writer.  To publish more often would cause your clientele to become irritated with content and unsubscribe.  I advise posting on the same day and same time each week for best results.

What types of content have you used successfully on your website?  Let us know in the comments below.
